Nothing to worry about. With two game designers at the table and both Sword Noir and Kiss My Axe a fun time at the table... This should be no problem.

That was one idea I had. There'd be a "focus" character, and each other character could provide a single die, but the die could be built using smaller dice, so if one could assemble 8d6, one could provide 1d12.

That's the temp solution, but I fear that it will quickly overwhelm even the hardest of challenges.

What if group challenges required a single "leader" and other players to assist? Assistants can only offer up a single Quality to increase the leader's roll by 1d6. Or something similar. The concept leans itself towards a military-type group/campaign.

Just wanted to let you know that I've packed my bags and will be headed off for what is sure to be yet another fun filled deployment--and I've packed Gifts of the Elder Gods (as well as all of the other works I've picked up over the last few months) along for the ride. While I haven't spent enough time with it to do a proper review (I'm no good at those), I thought I'd let you know my first impressions:

First impression of the print version of GotEG:
Print Quality: Excellent value; ideal size/format for the content
As you know I've also got the book in its digital forms, and have no complaints here either.

The content itself:
Just as described in the introduction, "The Adder" hits the mark as a true short story. A quick and pleasant read that held my interest from start to finish. While I have gravitated towards novels, it was nice to be able to pick this up, enjoy it, and put it down with the similar satisfaction as having finished a larger volume of work. I envision the other stories fitting in nicely between my soon to come "hurry up and wait" sessions, as I endure the deployment process (equip. issue, records updates, immunizations, etc.).

I was going to withhold my price/value comments for now. Having only read the one story as of yet I'm not in the position to judge; however, considering the price works out to < 1.40 a story for the print/digital combo and <.40 ea. for the digital versions I think it's safe to say buyer's win. (double edge sword here isn't it? keep em cheap and its hard to justify the time/effort spent, but raise the price and risk a drop in sales....yet every one of us fantasy enthusiasts would go out and spend three times as much on a burger that we don't need without a second thought, and it won't entertain us for more than five minutes at most.)

I'll leave it at that for now, and hope to provide some real feedback soon.
